primer-

when looking at the primer tasks i needed to research an artist that uses poems in their art, i came across Banner and her work with the text which is a description of a scene from the film Point Break and in preparation for making this painting Banner watched this section of the film and wrote an account of it, which she then used as the text for the painting. i really liked the way she presented it and how simple the idea was yet quite complex due to the words.

in response i printed out a poem by phillip larkin, in each paragraph there was one word that stood out to me so i wrote in big on top of the paragraph in red posca pen. when taking a photo of it i had a shadow of my hand as my light was behind me, i was going to move my hnd but i quite liked the context it added to the image. i dont know how much i like my response, it is the first time i have used a piece of writing in my work as the main focal point which was interesting, i think i want to think about it again and see if i could produce a better, more complex work, as right now i think my response is quite weak
